Who we are...

We are a group of Christian students that meet up regularly with an aim of telling people about Jesus and growing in our relationship with Him.

What is a CU?

An inter-denominational group of Bible believing Christians.
This means it does not represent one denomination such as Church of England or Baptist.
The CU focuses on issues of first importance as outlined in the Doctrinal Basis (“What we believe”).

A missionary arm of the church on campus.
The CU is a student led society reaching out to fellow students (of which a church cannot do), but does not have the experience of teaching and leading that a church offers.
The CU deals with matters that are relevant to a Christian student’s life and so does not deal with some issues that are dealt with by the church, such as family matters.

Because the CU is not a church we do not practice things like baptism or Communion/The Lord’s Supper/Breaking of the Bread.

The CU aims not to be a substitute for the church but instead a missionary arm of it, encouraging members to be part of a local church.

A CU is not:
· A Church (see above)
· Just a social gathering.
· A Christian dating agency!
